Indian Classical Dance Series: ODISSI

This painting portrays the rich cultural heritage of India. Classical Dance plays an important role in Indian culture. 

There are 8 Indian Classical Dance forms and every dance form is very different from each other with its, own signature MUDRAs (Hand Gestures), foot works and costumes, yet all Indian Classical dance forms found its root from 'Natyasastra'

My Latest painting 'ODISSI' is the 1st from the series of Indian Classical dance, which is from the state of Odisha. In this dance form, dancers adorns silver jewelry (which is the specialty of Odisha) instead of gold jewelry and Odissi Dancers are identified by their elaborate head gear and beautiful waist bands. The background of the painting is inspired from the famous wheel of Konark Sun Temple.

This painting is done on 18' × 14' canvas with acrylic paint and varnished to protect it from dust and sunlight.

This painting is unframed and has 2 inches margin left on all sides. This painting will be shipped in tube.
