This painting humbly draws it's inspiration from, the Ranganathaswamy Temple, located in Srirangam, Tiruchirapalli, on an island formed by the Kaveri and Kollidam rivers in Tamil Nadu, India. 

Sri Ranganathaswamy temple is dedicated to Lord Vishnu and his Consort Devi Lakshmi, also known here as, Ranganatha and Ranganayaki.

The temple has some stone inscriptions, from late 100 BCE to 100 CE which makes this temple complex as one of the oldest surviving active temple in Souther part of India. This temple Complex has 21 very colorfully sculpted gopurams.

This temple complex is constructed in the Dravidian architectural style, which is later glorified by the Tamil poet-saints, 'Alvars' in their canon, called 'Naalayira Divya Prabhandam'.
